November 11, 2016 – Get What’s Yours for Medicare by Philip Moeller

My guest on this program is journalist Philip Moeller, who writes about retirement for Money magazine, and authors the Ask Phil Medicare column for PBS. He was a co-author of the New York Times-bestselling guide to Social Security Get What’s Yours: The Secrets of Maxing Out Your Social Security, which was featured on this program in 2015. He is the author most recently of Get What’s Yours for Medicare: Maximize Your Coverage, Minimize Your Costs, which helps us navigate the exceedingly complex maze of enrollment periods, Medigap and Medicare Advantage plans in addition to Original Medicare, Part D drug plans, constantly changing provider networks, convoluted appeals processes, coordination of benefits with employer and retiree health plans, and many other variables. Making a mistake in any one of these areas—which many Americans all too commonly do—can cost big money, endless aggravation, and lost chances to get the best health care.
